Biography

Mason Cooper, president of Songrunner Entertainment, has Music Supervised over 100+ Film/TV projects. Always following his mantra to “fulfill a director’s vision within the producer’s parameters,” he understands that the music and sound are an integral part of the storytelling, always keeping an “eye on the music.”

His current projects include features films “The Beekeeper” (Jason Statham), “The Performance” (Jeremy Piven), “Savage Salvation” (Robert De Niro, John Malkovich), “Lamborghini” (Frank Grillo, Gabriel Byrne, Myra Sorvino), “The Hill” (Dennis Quaid, Scott Glenn), “Cash Out” (John Travolta), “King Of Killers” (Stephen Dorff, Frank Grillo) and “Sweetwater” (Kevin Pollack, Richard Dreyfus, Cary Elwes), with other highlights including the Steve Jobs biopic “Jobs” (Ashton Kutcher), the Raging Bull prequel/sequel “The Bronx Bull” (Paul Sorvino, William Forsythe), and “Nine Eleven” (Charlie Sheen, Whoopie Goldberg).

In addition to his film work, Mason has supervised many TV series and specials. This repertoire includes the current Kate Bosworth starrer “Bring On The Dancing Horses,” eOne’s “You Me Her” (Greg Poehler, Rachel Blanchard), Peter Farrelly’s “Loudermilk” (Ron Livingston), the AT&T Audience show “Rogue” (Thandie Newton, Cole Hauser) and over 150 Audience Music Concerts (The Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, Machine Gun Kelly, Bebe Rexha, more). He also serves as the executive music consultant to LA’s Geffen Playhouse theater complex.

A formally trained musician, Cooper’s music industry career was first forged in music publishing, representing the catalogues and talents of Bernie Taupin, John Lennon, Eddie Rabbitt, Jim Croce, George Michael, Rick Wakeman, and Smokey Robinson. His songwriting and production experience includes creating theme music and songs for major films and television shows, as well as musically collaborating with Dennis Quaid, Jason Alexander, Katie Holmes, Cheyenne Jackson, Bret Michaels, Weezer’s Brian Bell, and many others. Cooper has also been creating a buzz as a Screenwriter, with his scripts receiving top honors at Film/Screenwriting Festivals around the USA and Europe.

From his past positions as an ASCAP Advisory Board Member to his current activities as a highlight speaker and panelist at many Film & Music Festivals around North America, as well as his ongoing work as a mentor to young music professionals and students at colleges and programs around the USA, Cooper continues to bring a passion, proactivity and sense of gratitude to his work in bridging the worlds of Film/TV and Music.
